JANE AUSTEN: SENSE AND SENSIBILITY

Jane Austen's popularity as a novelist has been enduring. Working within her limited range, she has given us a glimpse into the early nineteenth-century middle-class life in the countryside in England in all her six novels. Sense and Sensibility was her first work of fiction and it foreshadows several characters and their preoccupations in her later novels. This critical study assesses and explores the text and its attendant problems from the point of view of examination requirements of university students. The novel has been analysed in great detail and several questions on it have been answered in great detail.
