Nobel Literature laureate Samuel Beckett was a towering figure who altered the course of contemporary theatre. Beckett's plays became the cornerstone of twentieth-century theatre, beginning with Waiting for Godot. His Endgame first published in French as Fin de Partie, received considerable attention from the critics and is now considered one of his most important works. The present critical study examines various interpretations of the play and endeavours to analyse and evaluate it from the point of view of examination requirements of our university students.
