George Orwell was born in India and anti-imperialist feelings were inherent in his character. He gave expression to them in most of his works. ‘Shooting an Elephant’ recounts his experiences as a police officer in Burma (now Myanmar but then a part of the British Indian Empire). The present venture seeks to highlight these features of the essay.
